History Of Sasan Gir 🐅

In the early 20th century, the Nawab of Junagadh played a crucial role in protecting the last remaining lions from extinction.

Today, Gir is home to 650+ Asiatic Lions, along with a rich variety of wildlife such as leopards, hyenas, sambar, chital, nilgai, langurs, and countless bird species. This biodiverse sanctuary, located in Gujarat’s Kathiawad peninsula, attracts over 5 lakh visitors annually and stands as one of India’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.
